All measuring instruments become inaccurate over time: they need to be readjusted periodically.
Our customer, involved in the calibration and repair of industrial and commercial measuring equipment, wanted to revolutionize this industry, which for over 50 years had been accustomed to working with equipment certificates of conformity in paper form and, more recently, transmitted by e-mail in pdf format.
Finding these paper certificates in a filing cabinet or exchanging pdf files by e-mail, and having to arrange and search for them in directories, often took the certifier and his customer more than 45 minutes combined per year to manage, per certificate.
Our customer, a certifier, had the idea of putting its certificates on a secure cloud and sticking an industrial-grade QR code label on each device so that any phone could display the certificate in 4 seconds. In addition, the software developed had to manage certificate expiry reminders to customers and certifiers, to avoid costly forgetting to renew.
Finally, we were also asked to create a cloud infrastructure that would allow customers to have one account to access certificates for all their devices, all in one place, eliminating the need to exchange documents by e-mail and manage pdf files to be stored and searched in directories, at any time during the year.
OUR ROLE AND DELIVERY TIMES
Our 8-month mandate was to create the complete software for the PC and mobile application, enabling it to offer the functions described above.
The work was done on Google Cloud Platform* , involving Big Query*, Firebase*, Firestore*, nodejs*, Type-script. Email reminders were created by integrating a third-party service.
The SaaS-based system has involved 4 employees and is in the early stages of commercialization.
