Monitoring in-store traffic during the pandemic

The famous problem of counting customers in department stores is an example of a case where part of the technological proof-of-concept could not be achieved without an MVP. There was also an issue relating to the behavior of the thousands of customers entering and leaving stores every day. Only by installing a functional product and watching it in action would we really know whether the customers passing through the store doors would be counted correctly. Our mandate was to make the firmware for the cloud-connected kiosks (IoT), the real-time traffic calculation software and the mobile application for the store manager.

OUR ROLE AND DELIVERY TIMES

The team developed the software for the bollard microcontrollers in C++ (ESP32 processor) to turn them into connected objects (IoT).the rest of the work was done on Google Cloud Platform*, involving Big Query*, Firebase*, Firestore*, nodejs*,TypeScript* mathematical algorithms in Python in a Cloud Service*. Text alerts were created by integrating a third-party service.
